Background:

Miya is a third-year law student at the Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Calgary. Pursuing law school has been a long-time goal of hers after developing a passion for oral advocacy from a young age. 

Miya is returning to initio after completing the Roman Elster Internship in Technology and Innovation over the summer. During the internship, she conducted research on a wide variety of topics including artificial intelligence, technology competence standards in the legal profession and legislative review.  She is interested in policy reforms surrounding technology and is eager to leverage her technical background while working at the Law and Tech Clinic. Miya will be articling with a litigation boutique in Toronto after graduating in 2025.
