Background:

At initio, Liam is excited about dispute resolution, corporate governance, copyright, artists’ rights, and other aspects of intellectual property practice. Coming from a family of scientists, Liam is excited to support innovators, especially in the biotechnology and medical science spaces. He is passionate about bridging the gap between creators and the business world.

Liam holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Classics from University of Toronto – Trinity College. His deep interest in language drives his passion for writing, advocacy, and negotiation. He has served as an editor on half a dozen publications, where he has honed his mastery of language, and is excited to bring those skills to bear in advocating for and advancing the interests of his clients.

Liam is the president of the Schulich Law & Technology Student Society and the chair of the Schulich Student Tax and Financial Law Association and thrilled to begin developing his expertise in tech law and start-up issues. He is also a member of Schulich’s IT Committee and Secretary of the Canadian Bar Association – Student Section, and tireless advocates for improving accessibility and inclusion in educational environments and beyond.

He is continuously expanding his horizons by keeping up with technological and legal trends in IP, administrative law, and beyond. Last year, Liam wrote a paper exploring the role of obviousness in genetic technologies and GMOs. Over the summer Liam took courses on cybersecurity and legal tech. He is currently working on preparing for taking the CIPP/C (Certified International Privacy Professional – Canada) exam to further develop his interest in privacy and cybersecurity law.

In his spare time, he enjoys writing short stories, playing chess and other board games, and landscape photography.
